Good month for sky gazers, they will see meteor shower and partial solar eclipse this month of May. According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), including the Eta Aquarid will witness the meteor shower, partial solar eclipse and planet conjunction. They will have the opportunity to see the partial solar eclipse on May 10 especially those living in the southern part of the Philippines like Masbate, Iligan, Sorsogon, Davao, General Santos and southernmost parts of Luzon.
Also be visible in the sky soitjeastern horizon east and the planet Saturn. While Neptune and Uranus will be visible
PAGASA suggest to use modern binocular or telescope to see and observe the movements of the planets.
Most meteor showers are created by comets. As a comet courses the Sun it sheds an icy, sandy debris stream along its orbit. If Earth travels over this stream, we will see a meteor shower. While the meteors can see anywhere in the sky, if you trace their tracks, the meteors in each shower act to "rain" into the sky from the same area.
